Townsend Farm, Brampton Abbotts

Townsend Farm owner Ben Taylor-Davies (ReGenBen) has introduced to his farm innovative practices – complementary planting, wide natural hedges, wide field margins, and mob grazing to name but a few. The morning walk will be mainly on farm tracks and will take around 2.5 hours, there are some slopes and it could be muddy if it has rained heavily. We will cover different areas of the 200 Ha farm including Game Crop margins, arable and grazed pastures, and woodland.

Carry a drink and a snack. Lunch will be back at the farm yard - there is a farm shop with a hot drinks machine and a few snacks; also limited indoor and outside seating plus the use of a loo! Payment for food and drinks is by card or there is an honesty box for cash – no change given. 

After lunch there is an optional walk to the River Wye.

We hope to see, farmland finches and song birds, Grey Partridge, Grey and possibly Yellow wagtails, raptors and waterfowl.
