About the event
Tom and Chloe Constable are the Co-Founders of Grange Project CIC, a  community rewilding project working to restore nature to 80 acres in  rural Monmouthshire. Since 2023, they have been collaborating with  volunteers, Youngwilders (a youth engagement non-profit) and local  school children to 'kickstart' natural processes across this former  grassland farm. Starting with comprehensive surveys about the current  state of nature, they have now introduced a range of rewilding  interventions including tree planting, pond creation, green hay and  leaky woody debris, as well as the activities of the two British  Saddlebacks pigs. Alongside the physical work on the landscape, Tom and  Chloe are working to 'inspire people with wilder nature' through their  'Wilder Podcast', rewilding education centre and glamping cabins.
Tom and Chloe will be speaking about:
1) What is rewilding and why it is important
2) What are some of the challenges of rewilding (practically, financially, ecologically, socially!)
3) The story of the Grange Project: how it came about, what has happened so far, what are the next steps
4) Our vision for the future of the Grange Project and what it might mean for the wildlife and bird population of Monmouthshire
