About the event
Craig Cerrig Gleisiad national nature reserve in the Brecon Beacons is a craggy natural amphitheatre, and is home to a number of upland bird species including Ring Ouzel and Peregrine. While the moorland above supports Red Grouse, Whinchat and Merlin. Some of these species can be elusive however, so patience and luck may be required. On a clear day the views are magnificent. Hill walk of approximately 4 miles, with around 1100 feet of ascent.
Please bring a packed lunch to be eaten in the field. The walk will only take place in good weather conditions.
Directions: Meet at the large layby on the west side of the A470 (OS grid ref SN971222) approx 7 miles south of Brecon.
