About the event
Mainly easy walking through an area of relatively large water meadows alongside a slow stretch of the River Wye. There is also a gravel bank area which is good for wading birds.
En route to the river we will walk through an area of mixed woodland and open farmland past Sellack Church. The walk should take around 2.5 hours.
We'll be looking out for resident species such as Grey Wagtail, Yellowhammer, Reed Bunting, Linnet, Nuthatch, Treecreeper and various Gull's. Also winter visitors such as Redwing and Fieldfare plus possible Lapwing, Goosander, Meadow Pipit, Skylark, Teal and Common Sandpiper.
Lunch in cars.
For those who wish to stay on after lunch there will be the possibility of the opportunity to head to Walford Pools for some winter wildfowl.
