About the event

A walk to the main hides and pools, which are part of the RSPB reserve, to see some of the summer woodland migrants.

Back in our cars we shall move onto Speech House FC main car park, off the B4226 (SO623124) where we will visit Woorgreen Nature Reserve. Here we hope to see water birds, and then depending on timing and weather, we will walk onto the Nightjar location within the same forest for about 9.00pm. We hope to be able to hear and see Nightjars until about 10pm.

Torches would be helpful if we run late and need to navigate in the dark back to the cars! Stout footwear and warm clothing may be required, depending on the weather, with moderate walking gradients on both sites. This meeting is weather dependent, ideally on a dry evening, so please contact the leader if the weather looks very unsettled. Don’t forget the insect repellent!

Directions: Meet at the RSPB reserve at Nagshead car park (SO606084) at 6.00pm.

Leader: Nick Smith (Tel. 07769 780161) To book places: nswoodlander@gmail.com
