About the event

Meet at the RSPB reserve at Highnam Wood car park (SO778190) or (What3Words//tent.vocab.save). Situated west of Gloucester; take the A40 east from Ross signposted to Gloucester. The reserve is approximately 1.75 miles along A40 coming away from Gloucester city. The reserve is on the left-hand side of the A40 if coming from Ross and clearly signposted RSPB Highnam Wood.

Remember that we will have to lock the car park barrier at 7:00pm to stop other cars coming in, so no late arrivals!

This is a lovely remnant of ancient woodland, with a 3 km nature trail passing amongst a variety of trees. A visit in May will be to hear a symphony of birdsong, especially the nightingales which breed here. Easy walking in most places but please bring suitable footwear, as some tracks can be wet and muddy. Please car share.

Leaders: HOC Nick Smith (07769 780161) and RSPB Fran Doidge (07974 400575)
