Dawn Chorus

Dawn Chorus - Private Woodland, Woolhope, Herefordshire - Thursday 16th May - Meet at 4am

Due  to limited parking and narrow tracks the walk is restricted to 15 +  leader. Please car share if possible.  It may well be muddy and there  will be uneven ground.

The plan is to be parked and  ready to walk by 4.15 am - this should enable the group to be in the  woodland at the beginning of the chorus and to identify the singing  birds before it becomes a euphony of sound!

You may wish to bring a small torch, but if you do PLEASE DO NOT bring a head torch - you just end up  blinding your neighbour.  Personally, I find it is best to naturally  adjust to the low light.

After the walk - approx 2 hours - If you would like to bring a hot drink I will bring the chocci bix!

Directions:  0S Explorer 189 -  SO 604 344 - Seige Wood

If  you are coming from Hereford: B4224 to Mordiford:  Turn left at the  Moon Inn, continue for 1.9 miles (past Haugh Woods) and take the first  right when you get to Broadmoor Common (pond on your left). Continue for  0.9 miles then turn left (large Black and white house on the corner).  Continue for 0.2 miles then turn right. Continue up the hill for 0.4  miles you will see a small car park on your left.  All the roads once  you leave the B4224 are very narrow and windy and you may not have a  mobile signal.*
