Rachel Jenkins is a semi-retired psychiatrist, Prof Emeritus at Kings College  London, formerly Director of the World Health Organisation Collaborating Centre for Mental Health Policy, Training and Research at  the Institute of Psychiatry.  She was honoured with an OBE 18 months ago  for her work in this field since retirement.

She moved back to her home county of Herefordshire in 2011 and since then has been monitoring and ringing the Pied Flycatchers in Moccas deer  park. She is a former committee member of HOC and organised the indoor  meeting programme for nine years. She has twice been President of the  Woolhope Naturalists Field Club, and is a life member of HOC and of HWT.

Her talk covers the  extent of global climate change, its causes, climate change in  Herefordshire over the last 100 years, and its impact on habitats,  plants, fungi, trees, invertebrates,  amphibia, reptiles , birds, and  mammals. The talk concludes with an exploration of  the need for  land-use change , and what that means for Herefordshire.
